As Muslims, it is important to remind ourselves that everything happens by the will and divine wisdom of Allah s.w.t. When faced with trials and adversities, our beloved Prophet Muhammad s.a.w—prayed to Allah s.w.t. through constant invocations with the language of love and servanthood.

1. Morning Duas for Protection and Forgiveness

Arabic:

اللّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْعَفْوَ وَالْعَافِيَةَ فِي دِينِي وَدُنْيَايَ وَأَهْلِي وَمَالِي، اللّهُمَّ اسْتُرْ عَوْرَاتِي وَآمِنْ رَوْعَاتِي، اللّهُمَّ احْفَظْنِي مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيَّ وَمِنْ خَلْفِي وَعَنْ يَمِينِي وَعَنْ شِمَالِي وَمِنْ فَوْقِي، وَأَعُوذُ بِعَظَمَتِكَ أَنْ أُغْتَالَ مِنْ تَحْتِي

Allahumma inni as’aluka al-‘afwa wal-‘afiyata fi deeni wa dunyaya wa ahli wa mali. Allahummastur ‘awraati wa aamin raw’aati. Allahummahfazhni min bayni yadayya wa min khalfi wa ‘an yameeni wa ‘an shimali wa min fawqi, wa a’udhu bi ‘azamatika an ughtaala min tahti.

English Translation:
O Allah! I ask You for forgiveness and well-being in my religion, worldly affairs, family, and wealth. O Allah! Conceal my faults and calm my fears. O Allah! Protect me from in front of me, behind me, from my right, from my left, and from above me, and I seek refuge in Your greatness from being taken unaware from beneath me.

2. Dua for Starting the Morning with Faith

Arabic:

أَصْبَحْنَا وَأَصْبَحَ الْمُلْكُ لِلَّهِ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ، وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ، رَبِّ أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ مَا فِي هَذَا الْيَوْمِ وَخَيْرَ مَا بَعْدَهُ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا فِي هَذَا الْيَوْمِ وَشَرِّ مَا بَعْدَهُ

Asbahna wa asbahal mulku lillah, walhamdu lillah, la ilaha illallah wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul mulku walahul hamd, wa huwa ‘ala kulli shay’in qadeer. Rabbi as’aluka khayra ma fi hadhal yawm wa khayra ma ba’dahu, wa a’udhu bika min sharri ma fi hadhal yawm wa sharri ma ba’dahu.

English Translation:
We have entered this morning and the entire kingdom belongs to Allah, and all praise is for Allah. There is no god but Allah alone, without partner. His is the dominion and to Him belongs all praise, and He has power over all things. My Lord, I ask You for the goodness of this day and the days after it, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of this day and the days after it.

3. Dua for Protection from All Harm

Arabic:

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

Transliteration:
Bismillahil-ladhi la yadurru ma’asmihi shay’un fil-ardi wa la fis-sama’i wa huwa as-sami’ul-‘aleem.

English Translation:
In the Name of Allah, with whose name nothing on the earth or in the heavens can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.

(Recite this three times in the morning and evening for complete protection from harm.)

4. Dua for Light, Guidance, and Strength

Arabic:

اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ فِي قَلْبِي نُورًا، وَفِي لِسَانِي نُورًا، وَفِي سَمْعِي نُورًا، وَفِي بَصَرِي نُورًا، وَمِنْ فَوْقِي نُورًا، وَمِنْ تَحْتِي نُورًا، وَعَنْ يَمِينِي نُورًا، وَعَنْ شِمَالِي نُورًا، وَمِنْ أَمَامِي نُورًا، وَمِنْ خَلْفِي نُورًا، وَاجْعَلْ لِي نُورًا

Allahumma aj‘al fi qalbi nooran, wa fi lisani nooran, wa fi sam‘i nooran, wa fi basari nooran, wa min fawqi nooran, wa min tahti nooran, wa ‘an yameeni nooran, wa ‘an shimali nooran, wa min amaami nooran, wa min khalfi nooran, waj‘al li nooran.

English Translation:
O Allah! Place light in my heart, light on my tongue, light in my hearing, light in my sight, light above me, light beneath me, light on my right, light on my left, light before me, light behind me, and make light for me everywhere.

8. Dua for Thankfulness and Remembrance

Arabic:

اللَّهُمَّ مَا أَصْبَحَ بِي مِنْ نِعْمَةٍ أَوْ بِأَحَدٍ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ فَمِنْكَ وَحْدَكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ، فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ وَلَكَ الشُّكْرُ

Allahumma ma asbaha bi min ni‘matin aw bi ahadin min khalqika fa minka wahdaka la sharika lak, falakal-hamdu walakash-shukr.

English Translation:
O Allah! Whatever blessing I or any of Your creation have received this morning is from You alone — You have no partner. So, to You belongs all praise and all thanks.

9. Dua for Complete Faith and Peace

Arabic:

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَصْبَحْتُ أُشْهِدُكَ، وَأُشْهِدُ حَمَلَةَ عَرْشِكَ، وَمَلَائِكَتَكَ، وَجَمِيعَ خَلْقِكَ، أَنَّكَ أَنْتَ اللَّهُ لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ وَحْدَكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ، وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُكَ وَرَسُولُكَ

Allahumma inni asbahtu ushhiduka, wa ushhidu hamalata ‘arshika, wa malaa’ikataka, wa jamee’a khalqika, annaka anta Allahu la ilaha illa anta wahdaka la sharika lak, wa anna Muhammadan ‘abduka wa rasuluka.

English Translation:
O Allah! I have entered this morning bearing witness to You, the bearers of Your Throne, Your angels, and all of Your creation that You are Allah — there is no deity but You, You are alone without partner, and Muhammad is Your servant and Messenger.

10. Dua for Protection from Evil and Misfortune

Arabic:

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ نَفْسِي، وَمِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ دَابَّةٍ أَنْتَ آخِذٌ بِنَاصِيَتِهَا، إِنَّ رَبِّي عَلَى صِرَاطٍ مُسْتَقِيمٍ

Allahumma inni a’udhu bika min sharri nafsi, wa min sharri kulli daabbatin anta aakhidhun binaasiyatiha, inna rabbi ‘ala siratin mustaqeem.

English Translation:
O Allah! I seek refuge in You from the evil of my own soul and from the evil of every creature under Your control. Indeed, my Lord is on the Straight Path.
